SPECIAL FORCES ASSAULT EXPLOSIVE ORDONANCE DISPOSAL OPERATOR<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the context of contemporary conflicts, where the threat of improvised explosive devices is ever-present, the Special Forces Group (SFGp) seeks soldiers who, beyond the grave responsibility of detecting and neutralizing these explosives, can also demonstrate mental, physical, and tactical integration within a Special Forces operation. Beyond physical and mental resilience, candidates must possess the technical expertise and linguistic proficiency necessary to excel in international training. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

EOD missions encompass the entire spectrum of explosive ordnance management: detection, identification, assessment, rendering safe, cleanup, and disposal of explosive materials. These operations involve a wide range of items, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), mines, munitions and sub-munitions, artillery shells, mortar bombs, grenades, guided missiles, rockets, and aerial bombs, among others. <\/p>\n

The SF Assault EOD follows a specialized \u201cenablers\u201d pathway within the Special Forces Group. This rigorous selection and training process, extending over several months, cultivates a high degree of self-reliance and adaptability, preparing the candidate for integration into an SF team. This integration allows the Assault EOD to work side by side with SF operators during their challenging missions in high-risk IED environments. <\/p>\n

A key distinction between EOD and AEOD roles lies in the integration within the supporting troop. AEOD operates as a distinct unit of three individuals, capable of being decentralized based on tactical needs. They prioritize versatility in the equipment, favouring lightweight, multi-purpose tools over bulky, single-purpose gear. This approach compensates for reduced equipment heft by enhancing our skillset, though it inherently introduces greater risks. <\/p>\n

Ultimately, as an AEOD, you are perpetually engaged. You are fully integrated tactically, ensuring that even when not actively involved in EOD tasks, you are vigilant and maintaining your designated position. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

To become EOD\u2026<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

To apply for the EOD course, you must be an active military member and no longer hold candidate status. The training begins in Tournai with the “munition renovation” course and continues with the EOD team member course at the DOVO Unit in Meerdael. <\/p>\n

Upon successfully completing the course, you officially become an EOD member. You will be trained in the disposal of conventional munitions, addressing remnants from World War I and World War II, as well as modern ammunition and domestic IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). This entire training program is designed with a homeland security focus, without any elements of combat support. <\/p>\n

Subsequently, within the unit, you may pursue further training in deployed operations and provide support to SOF if you are a Paracommando.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

To become AEOD...<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

All active-duty military personnel across all ranks are eligible to apply for AEOD. Following the initial training in EOD, the candidate AEOD will spend a year in a developmental stage within the DOVO unit. During this period, the candidate will undergo physical preparation for the SOF Basic course and technical training with the combat EOD course, which lasts seven weeks.<\/p>\n

Upon completing this year, you will embark on the SOF Basic Course, which encompasses both the Paratrooper and commando badges, spanning four months. After this, candidates will partake in the Q-course. <\/p>\n

The next phase encompasses specialized EOD procedures, extending over a rigorous nine-week period. Upon completion of this demanding training, the candidate will have mastered the advanced technical skills necessary to fulfill the role of a junior AEOD member. <\/p>\n

The progression continues with an intensive tactical training during the operator\u2019s complementary development phase, with a particular emphasis on mobility and counter-terrorism courses. Following this, the junior AEOD will be seamlessly integrated into our teams and will undergo further instruction in two additional specialist domains: CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) and advanced demolition techniques. <\/p>\n

You will also get trained in insertion techniques. All of us need to be High Altitude (level 1) jumper but also VHA ( Very High Altitude) and diver is possible. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
