\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The SOBU operator is responsible for supporting the Special Forces Operators Detachment in all maritime tasks, particularly as a tactical mobility specialist in a Maritime Special Operations context. Driving, operating and navigating highly capable craft in challenging environmental conditions and in tactically complex situations. <\/p>

<\/p>

To fulfil these duties, the SOBU operator must possess a thorough understanding of the maritime tactical and legislative environment. He must deliver technical, tactical and practical expertise with all SOBU craft, and other craft within Belgian Defence. <\/p>

<\/p>

The SOBU Operator needs to be proficient in a wide array of tasks. Whether it be as a pilot of a high powered RHIB in high waves or as navigator through narrow coastal waters by night, using digital charts and radar. He must be capable to solve mechanical problems, operate communication systems, heavy weapons, optics and be able to provide profound medical evacuation skills within a harsh maritime environment. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
