Lieutenant-Colonel GS Kristof Moens

Lieutenant-Colonel Kristof MOENS was born on January 5th, 1982 in DENDERMONDE. He joined the Royal Military Academy in 1999, and after successful completion of his Master of Science in ballistics, the artillery school and commando and airborne training, he became the Fire Direction Officer within the Para Commando Field Artillery Battery.

In 2010, he completed the Special Forces Qualification Course to join the Special Forces Group. He subsequently served as Team Leader, 2IC of the Operational Detachment, Operational Detachment Commander and S3-Operations and Training Officer (2017 -2019).

In 2019, then Major MOENS, joined the Joint Operations Division within the section responsible for the planning of Special Operations. He contributed amongst others to the planning of the military assistance mission in Niger and the NEO Red Kite from Kabul. In 2021, he was appointed to follow the Advanced Staff Course and upon successful completion of the course, he became Chief Operations and Training within the BEL Special Operations Regiment.
