A sniper is a specialist in long-distance and precision shooting. They are also an expert in camouflage and observation.

After completing the “Q-Course” and the “Operator Course,” the operator is assigned to a specialty within a team, such as that of a sniper To become a sniper, you must first undergo specialized training provided by the unit’s instructors. This internal course will teach you how to provide support and fire support with the SCAR HPR and Barrett M107 (.50 cal precision rifle), both at short and long ranges, in urban or wooded environments, by day or night, and in static or mobile situations.

Training

You will be sent to a basic sniper course at a national or international sniper school. There, you will learn advanced techniques such as infiltration and exfiltration undetected in enemy territory, stalking high-value targets, and making high-precision shots. The weapon of choice for these missions is the AX .338.
A sniper’s role is not limited to “sniper shooting.” They are also specialized in observation and will become an expert in using cameras to transmit digital images of potential threats to higher echelons.

Snipers in the Special Forces Group enhance their skills through international training courses where they learn, train, and exchange experiences with special units from around the world.

These courses include training in mountain, urban, desert, and unstable platform environments.
